Participant Responses – Post Program

The participant post-program responses indicated positive reviews pointing to highlights of the program. Highlights of the course as described by the participants in their responses centered around the connection between theory and practice, creative activities, conflict resolution, understanding student psychological states and cooperative learning. All of these are noted in the quotes below:

“Previously, I thought that managing a class means that a teacher should have a strong personality and should avoid any contact with students. But now I begin to understand that learning will not be efficient in such classes but needs a secure environment. Even the way of appreciating my students when giving right answers changed. I start to vary the expressions of encouragement.” (Falwah Ghodayer)

"Your concern of sincere work made a great impact on everyone especially this week. The topics are quite relevant to teachers and learners in all schools and you have presented the materials in a very simple and applicable way. Applying what you have done to the Ministry books made the workshop even better.” (Lina Bayazid)

“I have become more efficient and productive teacher by using the emotional intelligence, cooperative learning and communicative approach.” (Hanan Mohaya)

“From my experience as a teacher of English Language, I have different types of students. I can deal with each student according to their personality. But, I still feel that there is a gap between me as a teacher and my students. After I attended this workshop, I felt that everything has changed, because of changing my styles of teaching, bringing more aids, asking every student, applying cooperative learning, all these give me more motivation to me as a teacher and to my students. (Hamsa Maawi)

“It helps me realize my student’s misbehavior and leading me to a new way to deal with it nicely.” (Anonymous)

“I am very pleased with this “Teachers Project.” I appreciated your great efforts. The methods which are given are very effective. It helps me a lot in my classes especially in writing and reading classes. My students are very happy because they find a way to express and exchange their own thoughts even the weak ones. They like the “Jigsaw Method” a lot. It makes them very active through looking for information and discussing with each other. For me I learn how to be a flexible teacher.” (Aisha Salem)
